UPDATE

$8,811.87 raised so far!

$1,188.13 left to go!

The first $8,000 was enough to start the project. The funds have been wired to Jezza. The remaining amount is for the pump and the rainwater collection barrels.

A water survey will be done, and then a test drill for water. Please pray that everything goes smoothly in this process! I will update everyone as I have any new information!

Please donate and spread the word! Thank you!

Video Recap

One way I stay motivated to walk every single day is to occasionally beat my personal best. I’ve decided I am going to break my current personal best for steps (40,000 as of right now) by a lot: I am going to walk 100,000 steps on August 31 in Omaha, Nebraska.

These orphans walk 6 miles every day to get this kind of water. Let’s change that!

To keep myself accountable, I wanted to add in an additional challenge. I reached out to Kinship United, my absolute favorite charity, to see if there was something I could do to help them. Their mission is to help widows and orphans find healing in a kinship home environment. I found out that the orphans of the Jezza kinship currently have to walk 6 miles every day to get clean water. I want to change all that.

They need to bore a well, and get 2 rainwater collection barrels, in order to solve their water problem. It’s going to take $10,000. The awesome thing about Kinship United is that 100% of your funds go exactly where you direct it. They take nothing out for administrative costs (they have donors that specifically cover administrative costs instead).

My Goal

I want to have my 100,000 step goal in the books, and $10,000 raised for Jezza’s well and rain barrels by midnight, August 31. I will achieve my step goal by walking 1 step at a time. I believe we will raise the $10,000 for Jezza Kinship’s well for their orphans and widows one small donation at a time. We’ll get there $5 at a time! Thank you so much for donating!

Pastor David Lusanganwa can sometimes go get water in jars on his motorbike, but this is too cost prohibitive.
