Weight Loss Through Intermittent Fasting and Walking: May 2018 Progress Report

[spoiler title=’Click for video transcript’ style=’default’ collapse_link=’true’] May was an amazing month let’s do my monthly progress report I do these progress reports to show you just exactly what it’s like to go on this weight loss journey you know what my numbers do on a day to day basis how much they fluctuate and everything the first let’s get into the challenges for May some of the challenges I faced were like one time I got bit by this horrible yellow fly and it made my ankle swell up really badly and so for a few days they’re getting six miles in it was kind of miserable but I did it anyway another thing was it rained a lot this past month and here in Florida and so I just had to walk in the rain a lot and I also sometimes had to just walk in the RV and get my steps in that way and you know on both counts I actually found that I love walking in the rain it is one of my favorite things to do now and you know walking in the RV it’s not that bad it’s like less than 300 square feet but it’s really fine I can listen to my podcasts and just walk back and forth and I still get them in and another challenge was I suddenly got a lot more subscribers on YouTube I don’t really know why or how that was kind of a challenge just a little bit nerve-wracking to have more people watching this I’m ecstatic but still it was the thing that in the past might have you know made me start like stress eating and stuff but I didn’t because I do intermittent fasting and that stopped my stress eating so really that turned out to be such a positive thing because I’ve been able to see so many more people who are you know doing intermittent fasting or you know they’re doing you know something similar and they’re having good results and it’s always just I love to see that I love to see people succeeding and I got a lot of encouragement from you guys so thank you so much for commenting and subscribing and everything I really do appreciate it so let’s talk about my results for may for my walking I got five hundred and eighty nine thousand two hundred nineteen steps that’s two hundred and fifty four point fifteen miles and that’s actually an average of nineteen thousand steps a day I accidentally went way over all my steps I guess like I wasn’t trying to do that but there were some days where we went on longer hikes and we also started walking as a family in the morning and so I’ll get my steps in first thing in the morning and then so it ends up adding more to it later in the day so onto- my weight I ended the month of April at one fifty two point twenty nine that was my seven-day average and my goal was to get down to one fifty point twenty nine a total loss of two pounds for this month but I actually ended the month of May at one forty nine point fifty seven that is a total loss of two point seven two pounds and I am ecstatic about that getting into the 140s I tell ya I have been chomping at the bit I’ve wanted to happen but I’ve tried to be really really patient I didn’t want to change my game plan I didn’t want to do anything unsustainable at all and I just wanted to see can I get into the 140s doing what I do and I did I haven’t seen the 140s since college so I am super excited about this so that was a total loss of two point seven two pounds now let’s talk about the fluctuations my highest single day weight was one fifty six point four and my lowest single day weight was one forty eight point four and the most my weight fluctuated within a given week was 5.2 pounds so upcoming challenges for the month and don’t really see any there aren’t any major holidays or anything like that I don’t have any vacations planned the biggest challenge I foresee is probably gonna be the weather like there’s gonna probably be some severe stuff around us and that’ll be more of a challenge I’ll have to do it inside and you know that might get monotonous so let’s talk about goals for this upcoming month I would like to lose two more pounds that’s half a pound a week so I would like to be at a seven-day average of 147.57 by the end of June and my plan of course as always is to eat once a day cheat day on Sunday and walk six miles every single day also at the beginning of this year I had said around June I want to try to figure out where do I want to be by the end of the year because it really wasn’t sure how quickly I would be able to lose how far will this plan take me and so my plan is to try to get down to know if I’ll be able to get there I don’t know I will stall out on this current plan and if I do end up stalling out Goal: Walk 6 Miles (14,000 Steps) every day

Results:

I hit my step goal every single day

I walked a total of 589,219 steps

That’s a total of 254.15 miles

May 2018 Weight

Goal: 7 Day average weight of 150.29 by May 31, 2018

Results:

7 Day average weight as of May 31: 149.57

Total loss of 2.72 pounds for the month of May. I exceeded my goal!

Other Victories:

I finally saw my weight get into the 140s, which I have not seen since college! That was a big milestone for me!

My kids and husband started walking 6 miles with me. I love seeing the whole family get into such a good habit.
