How To Become Patient With Weight Loss

Patience was super important to my weight loss success and maintenance. When I was impatient and was trying to have faster results, I ended up doing the wrong things and having slower results. As Jocko Willink, former Navy Seal, says, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” Go slowly and smoothly so you don’t make mistakes and you’ll end up getting done faster. Being impatient is not going to make things happen faster.

So how do you become a patient person? Take opportunities in regular life to practice patience, like when you’re in traffic or behind a slow person in the grocery check out line…or maybe even with your children or other family members. You also have to learn to be patient with yourself.

In the beginning of your plan, you will probably struggle and you have to have patience. Don’t think about weeks or months. Think in terms of a year or even five years. Ask yourself if in five years you’ll  be happy you did the things you’re doing now. Accept the longer term and you’ll find you’ll become more patient. And when you become more patient, you’ll become less stressed.

I go a little deeper in the video, so be sure to check that out too!
