Energy Levels When Intermittent Fasting: What I Experience
okay so today’s video is about intermittent fasting and energy levels that’s one concern a lot of people have is aren’t you gonna feel tired all the time like if you’re not eating until you know supper it’s like you’re not eating all day long won’t you feel like exhausted by the time you get there and so I think it’s helpful to talk about you know my energy levels before you know because everybody’s different some people are just more energetic than others so I can only speak from my own experience but back when I was 222 pounds I would wake up at about probably eight thirty nine o’clock in the morning and I would still be tired and you know it’s just kind of tired throughout the day I just didn’t feel that great and then you know I would and I was eating you know breakfast lunch dinner snacks and so then I would you know go to go to bed you know at a halfway decent hour and you know so I was sleeping for a long period of time a lot of times I was having to wake up a lot I’ve noticed that I wake up less now during the night but anyway but so let’s compare that to intermittent fasting how I feel during it I feel great you know my overall energy levels throughout the day are good I wake up at about 5:30 without an alarm it’s very hard for me to sleep in to like 6:30 like on you know Sunday mornings or something I just I feel better I just throughout the day my energy levels are good by suppertime I am hungry you know I’m ready to eat but I am NOT exhausted and even after dinner a lot of times I’m you know I still have a lot of energy get some more work done and then I go to bed and I try to get in bed you know to decent hour about 10 o’clock is what I shoot for to be in bed by so I’m getting plenty of sleep but I feel well rested when I wake up and everything so there are certainly three other factors as to you know people will point out well hey you know you are drinking coffee and certainly you know three times a day that’s going to give you some energy and I totally agree with that another thing is I have 65 pounds less of body weight on me that I have to carry around all the time so certainly that gives you more energy right and then the third thing would be I’m walking six miles a day I’m more active now so I think all those things add up to why I just feel better now than when before when I wasn’t intermittent fasting now that being said I do have another point of reference which is how I feel Monday through Saturday when I’m you know intermittent fasting verses on Sunday when I’m eating you know pretty much all day whatever I want so I have noticed that Monday through Saturday I actually have a lot more energy I just I feel better than I do on Sunday so so that’s been my experience as far as energy levels with intermittent fasting I hope that helps
Key Points

 • Overall I feel great while Intermittent Fasting, and I’ve felt this way since starting (not just after losing 65 pounds)
 • When I compare how I feel now to how I felt before I lost the weight (and was eating three meals plus snacks a day), I definitely have more energy now
 • When I compare how I feel Monday – Saturday when I’m fasting, I feel like I have more energy than on Sunday which is a day where I eat whatever I want whenever I want

Further Reading

This is also why fasting tends to increase energy opposed to leaving you feeling drained. If you’re overweight and lethargic, fasting helps unlock all that energy already lodged in your body that you previously had no access to. Fasting forces your body to start accessing those stores of energy, and once that happens, your body suddenly has a near unlimited supply of energy!
