Dear Reader,
One month of 2025 is already gone. Is it just me or is time flying this year? As many of you know, I set a goal of getting my 7-day average down by 5 pounds. And boy, has it been a good reminder of how slow this process is. Patience is always a virtue, but it’s especially so on the weight loss journey!
I hope that right now things are trucking right along for you. And if they are, just keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t change anything.
But, if you’re floundering, let’s get you back on track.
How?
Stop making this complicated. Make a few simple rules for yourself and abide by them. (Watch this video: Intermittent Fasting is Easy. Why are you making it so hard?)
Write down your plan. Put it on a post-it. It should be that simple.
Write down your why. A strong enough why will overcome any how.
Weigh. Daily. Watch your 7-day average over time. Remember: the scale gives you only one piece of information: how many pounds you weigh. It is not a measure of your self-worth.
Stick with your plan. Eat the food you love. Stop restricting foods that you know you want in your life. Learn how to eat the right amount.
Be patient. If you’re obese or very overweight, a pound a week is a reasonable goal. If you’re only a little overweight or at a normal BMI, fractions of a pound are more reasonable.
You can do this.
Sincerely,
Kayla
