Dear Kayla,
I recently purchased your book, Overcoming Weight Loss Obstacles from Amazon. The cover is different from the picture. Are there 2 versions of this book? My copy has a plain white cover.

Dear Kathy,
Thank you for buying my book! I hope you find it useful. There are two different versions of the Overcoming Weight Loss Obstacles covers, but the contents inside are the same. Here’s what they look like side-by-side:

The cover on the left was the original cover. I’m assuming that’s what yours looks like. It might be that you ordered a used copy on Amazon, and that’s how you ended up with the old cover.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to update the cover. My inspiration for it was the story of Sisyphus. He was punished for all eternity to push a boulder up a hill, only to have it roll back down when he’d almost reached the top. That was what weight loss used to feel like for me. I’d be so close to success. I’d get my boulder up almost to the top—I’d hit my goal weight, or get near it—and then the boulder would come tumbling down. I’d start to regain, and eventually, I’d find myself at the foot of the mountain again, right back where I’d started. That’s what I tried to convey in my drawing on the right.
Sincerely,
Kayla
PS: If the copy of the book you received looks nothing like either of those photos, something’s wrong. If it was a plain white cover with NOTHING on it, please contact Amazon, as this indicates a problem with their print-on-demand service.
